Fed: Costello closes bank account because of bad service =2

On the issue of regional Australia, Mr Costello said the best thing the government
could do for farmers was reduce their costs.

"The most important thing you can do for them is to get their costs down and if you
get their costs down you're at least cushioning them against something they don't have
control over, namely their international prices," he said.

Mr Costello said the completion of the upcoming tax reform and the next budget would
leave him more time to get out into rural Australia and listen to people's concerns.
