There's a silver lining in limits on Lady Liberty Did you notice that, Monday night, ABC devoted as much time -- three hours -- covering the Lincoln Financial Battle at the Bridges, a golf game, apparently, as it did covering the entire Democratic National Convention?

The Statue of Liberty opened to the public Tuesday, after beingclosed since Sept. 11, 2001. Much was made of the fact that touristsaren't allowed inside the statue to climb to the crown anymore. "Apartial victory for the terrorists," declared one New Yorkcongressman.

Wrong. This isn't a partial victory for terrorists; it's a totalvictory for tourists. Have you ever climbed to the top of the Statueof Liberty? I have. It's awful.
